Slums in the middle of Europe – Our cooperation for Romania
In September, a team from Menschenfreude e.V. was on the road in Romania. Reason for the trip: On the initiative of Elka and Matthias Straub, who have already supported us in several Ukraine transports, a meeting with the Romanian “People to People Foundation” was organized. Among other things, People to People is involved in the cities of Cluj and Oradea for infrastructural facilities in slums, for the creation of educational opportunities and against human trafficking. Initial opportunities for joint projects were explored. Besides Elka and Matthias, Jürgen Perteck as well as Jan and Kathrin Anderseck were there.

The travel report: first aid transport in March 2022
The first aid convoy of Menschenfreude e.V. started on March 8 towards Ukraine. This was preceded by an unprecedented fundraising campaign with countless helpers. In the end, a team of 24 drivers set out with twelve vans to distribute the collected relief supplies in refugee camps – mostly specially converted churches. These are very moving and emotional experiences that we would like to share with you here.
The preparations: first aid transport in March 2022
We received around 2500 boxes and bags of donations for this first Menschenfreude aid transport. Thanks to you! And that’s just great. On the farm of our cooperation partner, Christian relief organization TABEA e.V., we spent a whole Saturday sorting your donations, packing them and sending them on their way to Ukraine. In two trucks and twelve vans. Now and here: all information for you about the biggest relief action of Menschenfreude e.V. so far, which will continue as long as it is necessary.
